Bug Description

I had a working logitech quickcam communicate on 7.10. After the upgrade to 8.04 it is still recognized in hardware. But neither camorama nor camera monitor work. starting camorama I get: "Could not connect to video device (/dev/video0) please check connection". The light on the webcam is on. starting camera monitor I get: : "camera monitor is not running" soooowwww....what can I do? Is there a repository for the camera drivers I should update?

Exactly the same here: Logitech quickcam, upgrade to 8.04, the led is on, but same notice "could not connect...".

Looking in /dev, video0 does not exist. Looking in /dev/.static, video0 exists. This seems unusual. Why would it exist in .static and not in /dev?
