Bug Description

Binary package hint: ufw

I get this error during boot-output after a 7.10 -> 8.04 upgrade:

 * Starting firewall: ufw...
FATAL: Module nf_conntrack_ftp not found.
FATAL: Module nf_nat_ftp not found.
FATAL: Module nf_conntrack_irc not found.
FATAL: Module nf_nat_irc not found.

Do these normally come with ufw or the iptables packages? Are they part of a secondary package that I've missed?

These are part of the Ubuntu kernel packages. Are you using a custom compiled kernel?

I am using a custom kernel as this server is a xen domU on a VPS (slicehost). I suppose I can bring it up with them..

While loading the modules doesn't work (obviously), this does not stop ufw from loading. You can either recompile your kernel, or adjust IPT_MODULES in /etc/default/ufw.
