Bug Description

...
The second bug I think I found is in the firefox configuration. What's going on with the locale configuration? In the installation, I selected Spain as the region, and Firefox is set as es-AR instead. This affects to the search box in the top, to the plugins, and to the locate web page find. For example, if I acces to the hp web page, it show me the Argentina's page. This bug (and the other one) affects to Xubuntu alternate and Destop, and to Ubuntu alternate and Desktop: I don't know if others version have this problem. Thank you for pay attention to me. Good bye.

PS: I send you some screenshots in a .zip package.

Yes, I have noticed this too.

It is because the source of the page says;

I can confirm this bug, es-AR language plugin for Firefox 3 is installed out of the box in es-ES Ubuntu installations.

It's more or less intentional that all the es-* locale packages are installed (we just have one language-support-es package rather than differentiating by country), but Firefox should certainly pick the correct variant. Giving this part of the bug to firefox-3.0.

By the way, it would have been better to file these two separate issues as separate bug reports.

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark the firefox-3.0 part as confirmed and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!

start page problem appears to be fixed on intrepid homepage: http://start.ubuntu.com/8.10/. the hardy page still uses the .uk form though. not sure if this is a technical constraint. keeping bug open because of that.
