Bug Description

First off I'm very new to Linux

The Thesaurus feature in OpenOffice.org2 writer is greyed out. I tried using
Synaptic Package Manager to install openoffice.org-thesuarus-en-u and found that
this is meant to be used with OpenOffice.org1. I went ahead and let it install
the older version and found that Thesaurus was greyed out there too. I checked
tools-> options and was unable to find a setting to enable the thesaurus.
Please help :)

The three thesaursus available -de, -en-u, and -it appeare only to be available
for OOo1. Installation of -thesaurus- remove OOo2 and replace with OOo1.

I hope I'm doing this right; I've looked for guidelines on how to use bug reporting, and haven't found any. In any case, I've changed the status of this bug to "Confirmed", since everybody seems to agree that it does in fact exist and is in fact,a bug. I've also marked a bunch of other bug reports as being duplicates of this one, since they all just reported the absence of the thesaurus.

The thesuarus was working fine in Hoary, and then was broken in Breezy. I'm using Dapper now, and it's still broken. It really needs to be fixed. Not having a thesaurus is a critical lack for an office suite. I haven't seen this problem with O-O 2.0 occuring in any other distributions or operating systems, so I assume the bug is somewhere in Ubuntu or Debian. Thanks to whoever takes the time to fix it!

Nope. I have 2.0.1oob680m5, and the thesaurus is still unusable.
