Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Upgrade from Kubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 I got the following message:
Installing the upgrades -> error
Could not install '/var/cache/apt/archives/dhcp3-server_3.0.6.dfsg-1ubuntu9_i386.deb'
The upgrade will continue but the '/var/cache/apt/archives/dhcp3-server_3.0.6.dfsg-1ubuntu9_i386.deb' package may not be in a working state. Please consider submitting a bugreport about it.

subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 100

cedric$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 7.10
Release: 7.10

cedric$ apt-cache policy update-manager
update-manager:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 1:0.87.24
  Version table:
     1:0.87.24 0
        500 http://ftp.tiscali.nl hardy/main Packages

I expected the update from kubuntu 7.10 to kubuntu 8.04 to go without errors

What happened was that this error oceured

After about 30 minutes:

At Installing the upgrades -> error
Could not install 'dhcp3-server'
The upgrade will continue but the 'dhcp3-server' package may be in a not working state. Please consider submitting a bugreport about it.

package dhcp3-server is already installed and configured

Please attach the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade to this bugreport.

The files from /var/log/dist-upgrade.

I should make a new bugreport for it, but xmms also doesn't work anymore. It could be due to the fact that i compiled imms from source, possible apt is confused by it.
