Bug Description

Binary package hint: cupsys

No printing at all after upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 amd64.

Setup: 2 Printers on a edimax printserver (lpd).

After the upgrade both printers are shown ready in the cups webif, only pull a sheet of paper and blinks on error without any transfer over the LAN. For correction i purged cups, gutenprint and foomatic completely and make a full setup after reinstall. Same situation, blinking printers without transfers. Printers can be added, reconfigured and jobs are coming up with percents till print start.

Is the missing authentication data the problem?

Next Infos for this problem.

Permissions in /etc/cups after full reinstall looks like. I give you the printers.conf for further inspection.
