gtk stock buttons on windows do not get translated

The french translation has so many bugs, for example in the dialog boxes... 50 % in English, 50 % in French...

Which version of inkscape are you using ? I think 0.46 is pretty complete: the webpage says 99% of the strings are translated, and the ones we left untranslated are pretty obscure (we might be well behind svn, but I don't think it's a bug). If you use 0.46 and there are precise dialogs where the translation is not precise enough, please tell us so.

I'm using the version 0.46 but the bug is in the window which allows us to save a file :
For example :

Fermer sans enregistrer | Cancel | Save

It should be :

Fermer sans enregistrer Annuler Sauvegarder

Confirming the previous post, but i have to mention that the string belongs to push button, which is maybe why they were not reported to be translated.

What platform are you running inkscape on ? I can't reproduce the bug on neither mac os X nor linux (debian unstable). How do you set the language ? If possible, can you set it to german (or spanish or another non-english language) and see what happens: is this text still in english or in german?

I suspect it is a gtk bug rather than a problem with inkscape. Nightrow, as you have guessed, these strings are not in the po file for inkscape, they come from stock gtk buttons and should be translated by gtk.

For the record, I got confirmation that windows 2000 is among the offending OSs. If anyone can test other languages and version of windows, please do so and report the results.

The file containing the gtk tranlation was not shipped when building inkscape. This has been fixed in build.xml in svn.
