I was upgrading from Gibbon to Heron. The only failure was gcc-3.4-doc, which I have left over from way back when; just hadn't gotten around to flushing it yet. I told it not to report the error, and then I got this update-manager failure.

My apologies; this looks like a dupe. The error message that it's reported to you [cache.commit() etc.] was /not/ the one it displayed to me, which has less-useful info.

I marked it as a dup for now, but the logs might still be helpful (at least term.log).
