Binary package hint: openoffice.org
OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 in Ubuntu/hardy takes very much more time to load OSD spreadsheet files than OpenOffice.org 2.3.0 in Ubuntu/gutsy did.
I work with simple tables. Not much data, basic formatting, no macros. Files that used to load almost instantly with Ubuntu/gutsy now need 5-6 seconds to load with Ubuntu/hardy.
The application startup time for OpenOffice.org itself is fine on both versions. It is only the time for loading the files that differs dramatically.
One thing that might be interesting:

Can you please attach an example file that takes a long time to load under hardy but not under gutsy?
