EnvyNG Could Not Install NVidia Driver

Running this on a Hardy system upgraded to gutsy:

Error: EnvyNG couldn't carry out the task you chose due to the following error.

/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/apt/__init__.py:18: FutureWarning: apt API not stable yet
  warnings.warn("apt API not stable yet", FutureWarning)

I installed and ran it with detect Nvidia driver version automatically. The system is a Dell Inspiron 1520 with the Following Graphics card:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 8400M GS (rev a1)

The system is currently running in vesa mode due to this error:

Sorry but that's not an error, it's just a warning. This is what prevents the driver from working:
(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found)

However the driver is loaded therefore you should ask NVIDIA about this:
