Resume from suspend-to-RAM failing on ACER 1502

With the new kernel 2.6.12-9, hibernation works but suspension is not working
properly.
It suspends, and while restarting the only thing I can see is a grey screen.

I'm using an ACER 1502 (AMD 3200) with 1Gig RAM

Was it working with a previous kernel? If you boot the old kernel, does it
still work?

No, with previous kernel neither hibernation nor suspension worked. Now, after a
kernel upgrade (and lot others upgrades), hibernation seems to work but not
suspension.

I have noticed that after an hibernation, If I play a movie, I can heard the
audio but not see the video. I've tried with Totem and Xine. By the way, this is
in a 64-bits breezy.

Side question: why is hibernation that slow?

I have the same laptop.
The failure to resume from suspend-to-RAM is still there when using fglrx
up to feisty herd 2.

We are closing this bug report as it concerns kernel version 2.6.12 from Breezy which is no longer supported. However, please reopen it if it is still an issue with a supported version of Ubuntu and feel free to submit bug reports in the future.
