Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
This same behavior has existed in previous versions of Firefox, and has always seemed unnatural to me.
Steps to repeat:
1. Do [Ctrl + B] to open up the bookmarks side pane
2. Expand "Bookmarks Menu"
3. Find an existing subfolder (let's call it FolderA) of "Bookmarks Menu"
4. Right click FolderA and then click "New Folder..."
5. Hit "Ok" on the dialog
Expected result (most natural behavior):
A new folder is created as a subfolder of FolderA
Actual result:
A new folder is created as a sibling folder of FolderA (that is, a subfolder of "Bookmarks Menu")
This behavior seems unnatural, as most applications automatically create subfolders in such a situation. In fact, even Thunderbird will automatically create a subfolder if you repeat a similar process on a mail folder.
is this still a problem with the latest ffox 3? If so, this is best dealt upstream as its not a ubuntu specific issue. first, verify that this is not caused by some extensions (disable all in tools -> addons and restart). Then please search in http:// bugzilla. mozilla. org to ensure that your bug isn't filed; then open a bug in http:// bugzilla. mozilla. org and post your bug id (or the one you found matching your issue) here. Thanks!
