I am as well experiencing significant screen updates on the client synergy. Both machines are running ubuntu hardy 8.04. The desktop is running x86 and the laptop is x86-64. Both have the latest version of synergy from the repositories installed. The delayed response-if there is any response-is so prevalent that it makes the client connected one almost unusable.

I am having the same problem. A workaround that fixes the problem on my machine is to use synergyc as root.

This problem seems to be solved for me with the latest kernel upgrade

Unfortunately the problem still persists after the last update (updated on May 4th) on my machine.

This problem appears to be resolved by enabling hardy-proposed and updating your kernel.

After that is it still an issue?

No success with any of the suggestions so far...

1. Did an update with hardy-proposed enabled and upgraded my kernel just now and rebooted to the new kernel but it didn't fix the issue.
2. Commented out 127.0.1.1 and still have the issue
3. Started synergyc with sudo and problem still persisted.

Anyone having any success fixing this bug?

I can confirm the solution given by Steven Harms. Enabling hardy-proposed and installing the latest kernel update fixed the problem for me (dont need sudo anymore to start synergyc). Thanks.
