Bug Description
Binary package hint: kde
Before upgrading to Hardy Heron, whenever I powered up my USB external hard drive, an icon would appear on the desktop when HALD had mounted it.
Since the upgrade, the icon no longer appears, although the drive gets mounted correctly.
A message in .xsession-errors says "DCOP aborting while waiting for answer from 'kded'". I have observed that the kded process is using a lot of CPU (over 50% at times).
I have also attached the output of /var/log/syslog showing the mounting of the device, in case this is of use.

I think this is related to https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/bugs/ 194474 so can probably be marked as a duplicate.
