Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Here's the tail of my .xsession-errors after printing five web pages:

** Message: GetValue variable 2 (2)
** Message: GetValue variable 1 (1)
** Message: GetValue variable 2 (2)
612.000000 792.000000
48960 63360
612.000000 792.000000
48960 63360
612.000000 792.000000
48960 63360
612.000000 792.000000
48960 63360
612.000000 792.000000
48960 63360

(The "GetValue variable" spew is also from Firefox, but that's an old problem, which I reported in bug #162976.)

The numbers look roughly like the dimensions of the page in different units? Anyway, this information is hardly useful to normal users, and should not be emitted by default.

Hardy installed from the 2008-03-20 beta live CD, Firefox 3.0 beta 5

most likely an extension/plugin outputting this

This is on basically a fresh Hardy install with no extensions or
plugins. The printer back-end is Samba, could that be significant? It
doesn't print anything like this when printing from other applications,
though.

If this were a real .signature, it would suck less. Well, maybe not.

Do you see those if you start firefox from the terminal as well? Maybe
this happens only on some sites?

It turns out that -ProfileManager or -safe-mode would require me to quit my current Firefox, but hopefully, the following repro steps are good enough for you.

era@hardy$ firefox -u nst -ProfileManager
612.000000 792.000000
48960 63360

Inside the ProfileManager, I created a new empty profile "nst" and started a new Firefox with that profile. It should have no extensions or plug-ins as it's a pristine new profile; isn't that correct? Then I printed a hardcopy of the start page, http://start.ubuntu.com/8.04/

It's not very informative, but here is a screen shot of the result, with a terminal window in front of Firefox (where I also ended up installing a tool for grabbing a screen shot before grabbing any screen shot, which crashed, duh ...)
