Brasero: Huge (1-2 hours) wait time reported when creating burned DVD checksum

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, upgraded from beta.

Occurred after burning 1.6 GB DVD image

Expected: creating checksum after burning DVD should take more time than creating checksum after burning CD, and progress being reported right from start.

What happened: no progress being reported (0%), drive not spinning (or spinning very slowly), time increasing indefinitely. Cancelled it after waiting 10 minutes.

This is very minor inconvenience, since disc was burned without errors. I think many people would not even report this bug.

Thanks for your report, please next time you burn a DVD run brasero as: brasero --debug &> brasero-debug.txt so we can have a debug log to look at and send to the upstream developers, thanks you.

I have an identical problem on my Acer Aspire 5710 laptop. Karmic and Lucid also affected. Burning a DVD with maximum speed takes more than 1 hour. After burning the disk in a reasonable time, disk verify progress bar jumps to 100% and the stuff hangs for 40-45 minutes. The odd thing is that if I write a second disk without closing brasero, the checking time decreases to an acceptable one. One day later and after upgrading to Lucid the same thing happened.
