Firefox can't install Google Bar xpi

Bug Description

Kubuntu 8.04 updated; using Firefox 2.0.0.14, if you try to install the Google Bar xpi, Firefox causes an error "203" (see the attached image).

Starting firefox from konsole doesn't make any difference.

Did you go for ffox 3 and then downgraded to ffox 2?

Alexander, I installed version 2 of Firefox because a lot of extension still doesn't work for version 3.

If you look in Hardy repos you will find a bunch of extensions that we
now maintain, sorry bug google tool bar is not likely to ever be one
since it is ALWAYS broken. I am unable to load Launchpad.net for a few
hours but i will make sure this bug is the one i think it is.

Can you please follow the instructions at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs
on how to start with new profile as this sounds like your profile is corrupt in some way.

Yes, I followed the instructions and now it works.
I could install Google Toolbar over version 2 (firefox-2) after a new profile was added and selected.

Could the bug be related by a bad profile from version 3? Just a thought.
