Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Even though the information is stored in the trashinfo files in ~/.local/share/Trash/info, nautilus does neither show where a deleted file was located before deletion, nor does it show the deletion date.

There are no such rows shown in the list view, and there are no such rows to available add.

Sorry for my point of view but I don't think that this is a duplicate of the 150112bug, I dont need the automatic expire of the files in the trash, but I really woul like to use the date of deleting add/or where the file was before deleting when I have to resume a file similar to other.
Now I am not able to do it (I am using Ubuntu 8.10), can some one help me now or I have to hope in the next releases?
Thank you for your patiente.

i'm the reporter of Bug #150112:
and i confirme that the present bug is different

it would indeed be great to be able to sort files in the bin by deletion date and to see their deletion dates at 1st sight

The "duplicate of" tag was removed since none of the other related bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/150112, https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/301552 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/228369) mention displaying the file origin. Either rephrase this or the other bugs to include both "deletion date" and "file origin" or keep them as separate bugs.

Cheers!

I've reported this upstream, it's now up to the GNOME Developers what to do.
I'm marking the bug as Triaged and setting the importance to Wishlist since we've handled the first stage of the bug and since it requests an enhancement, it does not report a regression.
