if you look closely to your logfile, you'll find the following error message:

Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0 at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60.
dpkg: error al procesar xserver-xorg (--configure):

this is probably caused by you upgrading under an X session but as root and not using the tools provided by the distribution such as update-manager and others through sudo or gksu. If you can confirm this would be of great help to identify the real culprit of this issue.

Hi. El error que usted me esta presentando surgio de un error una vez que estaba instalando el java 5.0 debido que al momento que estaba descargando los paquetes y instalando se apago el equipo cuando lo encendi de nuevo presentaba como un paquete roto y no se a podido arreglar mas, se pago debido auna baja de electricidad .

xserver-xgl has been deprecated upstream, and removed from Intrepid. Closing the bug as won't fix.
