Bug Description

Installed fresh version of breezy amd64 using the iso cd of the preview version.
Worked fine, until i did apt-get update && apt-get upgrade (on sep. 20)... about
300 packages got upgraded without, but after reboot the network is completelly
broken. ifup/ifdown don't even work, it's impossible to bring the network up.
Using nvidia nforce4 ultra chipset, nforce and marvell lan chips onboard, both
are unable to go up for some reason...

This could be 12915 ...

If you know what module you need to load to get your network card working, try this:
$ sudo modprobe ne2k-pci
$ sudo ifup eth0
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get upgrade

(replace ne2k-pci with your module name).

If you don't know your module name, could you attach the output of "lspci" for
me so I can tell you what it is.

Thanks

hi there!
I just installed a fresh copy of breezy right now, to try to reproduce the
problem and document this better.
I just installed it, the only thing i did till now was open the package manager,
specify the proxy server for my connection and add the repos for brezzy
packages/updates/security.
Right now it's downloading 322 packages that need to be upgraded, network is
working for now...
I'm pasting the lspci and lsmod outputs for now, so you get an idea about my
machine configuration. I will now wait for the updates do be installed and
reboot the machine.

i guess there was some package that was broken and got fixed in the meantime,
because i swear, i installed breezy three times a couple of days ago (sep. 20)
and had the same problem each time. didn't mean to make you loose time, sorry ;)
cheers!
