we need a good backtrace in this master report. most likely a legacy gconf/key migration issue.

I just marked bug 234470 as a duplicate of this bug. It contains a lot of attachment of the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade, so perhaps these additional details will help... Bug mentions a failure at upgrading network-manager-vpnc, but it looks like before it also fails at upgrading network-manager, with the same error as above.

should be fixed. latest in 0.7 shipped in intrepid. If this is stil an issue in hardy, please open a hardy task.
