Evolution GAL lookup lost

On my last update to 8.04 Beta, I lost GAL lookup capability to my Windows 2003 server through Evolution Exchange. This had been working ever since I loaded Alpha3. This is a very important feature to me as I am stuck using Outlook web access until this bug is fixed.

I can confirm that I'm seeing the same problem with the latest versions in Gutsy. I used evolution-exchange all through Feisty, and earlier. Currently, my global address list never works. Doesn't work in autocompletion, pulling up the search tool while addressing a new email, or in the contacts. Other contact lists work, including the exchange contacts list, but not the GAL. So I have no way to get addresses except to use OWA, or to search through old emails.

After switching to a different AD server, I was prompted for a new password, and now I can see the GAL again. I suspect this might be a password handling issue, when changing your Windows domain password. I've seen evolution get pretty confused over that in the past.

But now, after an evolution-exchange-storage crash, and restarting evolution, this doesn't work again.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try the same with Karmic or Jaunty ? Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that I have the issue in Karmic with the GAL. I was unsure to begin with which format the GAL server should take. If on the LAN with the server then I assume its <exchangeserverhostname.yourlocaldomain.local> with no protocol specified. If offsite then I don't know what to use and suspect there would be port issues, firewall etc. Either way I haven't had any success. I always get "Error loading address book". It was the same with Jaunty. My username and password has never changed and all other aspects of Evolution Exchange work well as long as I don't use cached mode (local copy).
