firefox locks on web site

Click on "Enter" and the next page locks Firefox solid after a few seconds.
The first time I clicked on it, it installed a xine plug-in, so it maybe a xine or xine plug-in bug?

uninstall that plugin through the ubuntu package manager and install
something else.

 status invalid

Thanks for your response, I have a couple of queries.
What would you suggest I install instead please?
How can firefox be prevented from installing the incorrect plug-in please?

You are presented several choices when visiting a website and not
having a plugin installed. Choose another option there. To re-trigger
that install wizard you have to uninstall the plugin package for
now. We are working on improving the user experience and allowing
users to more easiliy switch plugins, but it will take at least this
release cycle to get this properly done.

I have this experience:-

I removed xine-plugin for Firefox using Adept.
Log on to http://www.pithemovie.com and click on the "Enter" sign.
Firefox prompts to install missing plug-ins
Click "Install missing plug-ins"
Firefox searches, but only one plug-in, the xine-plug-in (with ubuntu logo) is listed and nothing else.
I don't seem to have another option. Have I made an error?
