OpenOffice.org 2.4, opening the following powerpoint: http://www.celinuxforum.org/CelfPubWiki/JapanTechnicalJamboree9?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=config_embedded_en.ppt produces the error message dialogue:

This appears to be fixed in hardy-proposed for me, does the update work for you?

presuming fixed in intrepid, which now has OOo 2.4.1; please reopen this task if it proves not to be fixed in hardy-proposed.

This works fine in Open Office from hardy-proposed. Thanks for resolving this.

I can confirm that the document opens fine for me too (though I could not confirm the breakage on a clean Hardy install)
