Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

System:
I have a pinnacle PC-TV card with the audio internally connected to the aux-connector of a SB-Live! 1024
I run Hardy Heron 8.04 with Wubi.
Bug:
The audio from my TV Card is distorted. Like the 'gain' is set too high.
Moving the sliders (Capture feedback, Aux rec, Analog front) does not change this.
When I set sound-recording to ALSA, in the Ubuntu-Sound-preferences, the distortion does NOT occur.
The distortion sounds like digital distortion.
The distortion was present in all beta-releases of hardy heron (that I installed)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release the Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I now have different hardware, so I can't test it anymore.
