After recent update with Ubuntu 8.04 Beta (awn-core-applets-bzr 0.3.1.bzr427.2~har and libawn-bzr 0.3.1.bzr223.1~har) stacks plugger shows as a white line though devices mount. Here is the error output:

Since this is an applet-specific issue, it needs to go into the awn-extras bug tracker.

Can you confirm that /usr/lib/awn/applets/stacks.desktop does not exist on your system?

Looking under /usr/lib/awn/applets/ I find that stack.desktop does exist, it is in this directory.

From moonbeam in Bug #220470:

"I'm thinking the use desktop agnostic build option in reacocard's repo is exposing an issue with gnomevfs not being initialized by some of the applets that use the it. My guess is that the non desktop agnostic code paths cause the init to occur for the applets in question without them needing to do so explicity.... but the new code paths don't do it.

I think that, essentially, any applets using gnome vfs should call gnome_vfs_init(), or the python equivalent on startup. It will cause no issues and I think it may solve some... though I'm not absolutely sure that's all that is in play here."
