Firefox 3 prints a letter-sized paged even when asked to print A4

I have a4 in /etc/papersize and also in my HP Deskjet 952C settings (using hpjis drivers). Locale settings an EN_GB UTF8.
When I print a page in Firefox on an A4 paper, the format is wrong (as if the printer was trying to print on a US-Letter sized page).
Openoffice prints the correct format.

I managed to overcome this by modifying the following settings in about:config
print.postscript.paper_size : A4
print.print_paper_height : 297,00

It didn't work for me :(, even after restarting firefox.

I've noticed that Firefox doesn't print exactly Letter when you select A4. It seems in my case that it simply prints the contents too close to the top edge of the sheet, so a large white margin at the bottom appears, and so it looks like a Letter output.

Maybe is it a problem of content not being correctly centered?

I'm attaching a photo of the output I obtain with both Letter and A4 settings.

I can confirm this longstanding issue. Instead of fiddling with about:config you can set the paper size in file/page layout

it's the same for me, I've set my print my default print size as A4, but with firefox still send in letter format. OpenOffice and Ms outlook and Word via CrossOver work well.
I've tried the about:config workaround, but it doesn't work.
