Bug Description

Totem opens the video, recognizes the correct video length, but the playback won't start.

Example videos are here:
http://www.langnetsymposium.com/talks.asp

The problem can be seen with this one for example:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/c/e/5/ce5434ca-4f54-42b1-81ea-7f5a72f3b1dd/1-01%20-%20CSharp3%20-%20Anders%20Hejlsberg.wmv

The videos play without any problems with VLC. Also, some other wmv files work fine in totem, like this one:
http://msstudios.vo.llnwd.net/o21/mix08/08_WMVs/UX09.wmv

system: updated hardy,
ii totem 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 A simple media player for the Gnome desktop

Thank you for your bug report. Does gst-launch playbin uri=file:///example/directory/video works correctly? The wmv format is a microsoft one and the linux plugins might not read everything correctly
