Bug Description

Binary package hint: dokuwiki

To tell apache about dokuwiki, a symlink called /etc/apache2/conf.d/dokuwiki.conf needs to be created, pointing to /etc/dokuwiki/apache.conf . This should be created as part of the install, but you have to make it by hand.

This is using dokuwiki 0.0.20070626b-1 on Ubuntu Gutsy, with a default install using the Synaptic package manager.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

I'm running 8.10 and the symlink is there after installation, still dokuwiki does not show up under http://localhost/dokuwiki. Restarting apache didn't make any difference.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Confirmed for 11.10 - Error message in installer will be that files are not writeable, unfortuneatly I can't find the mentioned apache conf file anymore since i used a dirty workaround just creating a symlink

ln -s /var/lib/dokuwiki/data/ /usr/share/dokuwiki/data
chown www-data /usr/share/dokuwiki/conf

→ but the package has got another bug !
