padsp fails

Could you please provide some more information, such as running padsp with it's debugging switch, and attaching the output to the bug?

Are you aware that mplayer can be used with pulseaudio directly? I suggest you look up the mplayer documentation to find out how.

Why it fails to work properly I don't know, but there is no need to use padsp with an application that supports pulseaudio directly.

yes, but you miss a 'v'! vmplayer, the player of vmware that do not works with pulseaudio, at least my version I do not know the beta

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to this bug, I'm just checking to see if this is still an issue, and if any additional work should be done on this bug.

pasuspender -- should be used instead.

The fact that pasuspender should be used for vmware does not "fix" that paoss is broken
