Bug Description
I'm not sure if I filed this under the right package, as /dev/dri is entirely empty.
My computer is an IBM ThinkPad X41, and the graphics card is reported by Xorg as:
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE OEM: Intel(r)
VGA BIOS
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE OEM Software Rev: 1.0
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE OEM Vendor: Intel Corporation
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE OEM Product: Intel(r)
(II) I810(0): VESA VBE OEM Product Rev: Hardware Version 0.0
i810, i830, i915, agpgart, drm, and intel_agp modules are all loaded.
I do not use any fb devices.
The kernel that I use is breezy's linux-image-
dmesg holds these clues:
[4294690.246000] Linux agpgart interface v0.101 (c) Dave Jones
[4294690.268000] [drm] Initialized drm 1.0.0 20040925
[4294690.272000] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) ->
IRQ 16
[4294690.272000] [drm:drm_
[4294690.272000] DRM: Fill_in_dev failed.
...
[4294694.439000] agpgart: Detected an Intel 915GM Chipset.
[4294694.441000] agpgart: Detected 7932K stolen memory.
[4294694.464000] agpgart: AGP aperture is 256M @ 0xc0000000
As I don't need DRI for anything other than pretty screensavers, I don't mind
waiting for the official release. This bug report is mostly FYI.
If more information is needed, I'll gladly provide it.
This looks weird, seems the agpgart module isn't getting initialized when it
should. Here's my canned repsonse though :)
If possible, please upgrade to Dapper's 2.6.15-7 kernel. If you do not want to
upgrade to Dapper, then you can also wait for the Dapper Flight 2 CD's, which
are due out within the next few days.
Let me know if this bug still exists with this kernel.
