Bug Description

I could control the brightness of my laptop screen using hotkeys (Fn+Home/End), although the panel applet never worked (dont know why).
Sometime ago, the brightness control using the hotkeys also stopped working.

Thank you for your bug report and the additional info you've provided.
I'm marking it as duplicate of bug 217504, which is about acpi_fakekey failing/being ignored, which gets called in /etc/acpi/video_brightnessup.sh.
