when trying to use the shift switcher the screen gets darken

when trying to use the shift switcher the screen gets darken but nothing else happens (it used to work just fine)
but when i tried to take a screen shot what i got was the normal behavior of the plug in (strange)

using hardy beta fully updated with nvidia 5500 fx

I can confirm this bug. It didn't happen until I did a clean install today and installed all the updates. When I enabled the shift switcher plugin in compiz-fusion (compizconfig-settings-manager), the screen just goes dark when I try to tab through the windows. The windows do switch (one tab brings up a different window), but the actual visualization is blank.

Any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Okay, solved my problem. It was the "Multi Output Mode" setting in the Shift Switcher plugin. I had to set it to "On activated output" because I was using a VGA port on my laptop to mirror output to a projector. The plugin now works with the laptop screen and the projector. I also tried the "One big switcher" option, and it also works.

Does this recommendation fix everyone's bug?

any way its still a bug on default settings
