Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio-utils

Wine crashes when running Counter Strike: Source with padsp. I've configured Wine to use the OSS device as desribed here:
  http://blog.paulbetts.org/index.php/2007/05/27/make-wine-and-pulseaudio-get-along/
and then I run Counter Strike with the following command:
  env WINEPREFIX="/home/alex/.wine" padsp wine "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 240
Steam loads and logs in to my account. The CS splash window is displayed but it crashes before the game starts. The game doesn't crash when launching without padsp.

Attached is the output in the terminal. Note the two errors about memblock.c. Perhaps this bug is related to http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/153

Versions:
Ubuntu: 8.04
pulseaudio-utils: 0.9.10-1ubuntu1
alsa-base: 1.0.16-0ubuntu4
wine: 0.9.59-0ubuntu4

My sound card as shown by lspci:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

In the Sound Preferences capplet all devices are set to use the PulseAudio Sound Server.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 9.04 (http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/)?

This bug is still present in ubuntu 9.10 32bit

Here the game crashes as soon as I join a server in Team Fortress 2 (also uses the source engine), only present when using padsp.

Are you using Neil's PPA for WINE?
