Same here!!

Hi,

Description: Ubuntu 8.04
Release: 8.04

Firefox crashes very often!
I upgraded from gutsy (update-manager -d), all latest updates have been applied.
My sources.list looks funny though, I attached it.
On Gutsy, ALL media played flawless so I belief all necessary packages are installed. (??)

##I installed Firefox 2 (additionally to Firefox 3) from the repositories, but the same error occures. (Epiphany too)

I have the impression that it is on flash-sites with video content only, youtube etc, but the gmail applet works fine.

One more thing, kaffeine (xine backend) and youtube videos "don't like each other".

Alexander,

I use a lot of extensions. To find out which (if any) is the culprit will take tiem.

Currently Firefox is v05b5. When will rc2 and the final release be in the Ubuntu repositories?

rc1 is in hardy-proposed. we had some regressions for which we needed
to add and test fixes, but the current builds look good. hopefully
this can roll out in the next days.

rc2 and final should happen in a more timely fashion ... but still, we
have to do the QA and if there are regressions fix them before rolling
it out.

Alexander,

v05 (not sure if rc1) Firefox install (by software updates) fixed the crashes. To quote someone else: "some muppet had the idea of including Firefox beta version in Hardy final release". I don't like the 'abuse' but I would like to know why this was done.
