Bug Description

Binary package hint: midbrowser

I cannot close the "About" dialog using the mouse/touchscreen, because the button is obscured. I am currently running Xorg with a resolution of 840x480. Clicking the "X" on the marquee in the corner does not close the dialog either, but closes the application instead (leaving the about window still open).

$ apt-cache policy midbrowser

Can you please confirm that this occurs when using the UME daily build?

If you do not have access to a device..directions for running in Xephyr can be found on the project wiki.

Ok... I am using UME on a normal PC that only has a 7 inch touchscreen, and I currently do not have any desktops installed with Linux on them (I've been meaning to, but haven't gotten around to it)... so Zephyr or the daily build probably aren't good alternatives for me. Is there other ways to install the daily build packages?

Currently the daily build is put out as an image. The best way is to burn that image to an ISO. Unfortunately, you need a program called Moblin Image Creator to do this (Linux Only). My suggestion is to pop a gutsy Live-CD into a spare PC and install M.I.C onto that Ramdrive image using: $ sudo apt-get install moblin-image-creator

From there...download the MIC project tar from: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/moblin/hardy/menlow/20080417/

Go to the File menu in MIC and Load Project. Point to the tar.gz

Once loaded, click the project in the top pane. Then the Target named "Full" in the lower pane.

Now click the "Live CD" button at the bottom, and name your ISO. Burn, Go.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Ok, so what I did was start Xorg via SSH, then ran the image creator over SSH/X-forwarding and did all of that stuff mentioned there, went into the chroot environment, then did "export DISPLAY=:0". After that I executed /etc/X11/Xsession &, which started up the hildon environment. Of course, none of the icons showed up (see bug 219041, it happens in my normal environment too), so I launched midbrowser from the command line.

Long story short, the same issue happens with the about window. This was using the daily build image from 4/18.

I can see the whole About dialog in 0.3.0rc1, but it still doesn't have any buttons.
