Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu.
Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) 32Bits

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.

3) What you expected to happen
Wanted to send a file (msn protocol), browsed my computer (via pidgin's sending file menu), selected the file (mp3) and clicked 'open'.

4) What happened instead
Nothing happened but some activity disk for five seconds, and then Pidgin crashed (process died).

PS : the file was on a FAT32 file system.
NB : msn ports aren't forwarded.

Thanks for the report, and thanks for the attachments. The files contains a lot of numbers and letters, so i guess it'll be enough for a developer to have a look at.

Is this bug still reproducible with an updated system?

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue?
