Bug Description

Most noticeably on workspace rotation using the cube rotate plugin, gnome-panel in particular but also any unfocussed windows on the workspace are rendered poorly, leaving them looking decidedly blurry. There seems to be no consistency, about 70% of the time it does it, in the rest of cases it's fine.

No such issues on the previous 0.7.2 release.

As can be seen in the attached screenshot, the focussed app is clear and sharp.

0.7.4 was only introduced to Hardy a few days ago so I'm guessing there's enough time for bug fixes <crosses fingers>. It would be great to think that particular fix would be backported.

Also experiencing this bug. It is VERY annoying when you have to stare at code for 12 hours a day and it keeps getting blurred for no reason. Doesn't help your eyes much!

This problem has become more severe on my work computer though to the extent that at times parts of the screen become artifacted, with slices of the right hand side of a window which touches the right side of the screen re-appearing on the left side of the SAME workspace/cube face. Also some elements become distored and do not display correctly until forced to be redrawn.
At times, the blur will also only affect parts of the screen, or individual controls such as a a button, or treeview control. Other times you can trace the blur from left to right like a radial blur effect, where it radiates from the center of the screen as clear, and becomes more blurred the further out towards the edge you go.

Also, I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but it prevents the compiz trailfocus plugin and several other plugins that use transparency from working when it goes into "blur stuff randomly" mode.

Here is an image to demonstrate the redraw problems/artifacting. It's only a minor example, but it's the most frequent redraw problem I've come across so far. Sometimes it can span the entire panel, other times just parts of it as you can see in the image. I'll try get a screenshot of the more severe redraw bugs such as parts of applications being offset out of place/not being drawn correctly when it happens next if I remember

It seems to be fixed upstream, we need this patched before Hardy release

This is fixed in the compiz team's bzr repository, we just need approval to upload it to hardy before release. Bumping priority and setting milestone as many of our users use the cube.
