layout switching works ina funny way

I have to switch between greek and usa.I am going to keyboard preferances and then layouts and then layout options and then layout switching. Alt + Shift changes layout is chequed all the time. I cheque both alt keys together change layout. Everything works fine. I restart computer and the switching doesn' t work. I am doing again the prossedure but this time I uncheque the Both alt keys together change layout. Everything works fine. I restart computer. Doesn' t work. I cheque it, it works fine. And so on, every time chequing and unchequing, and it works fine. Bye bye thanks.
