Hardy 0.21 backend crashes when starting to watch liveTV

Bug Description

Nothing appears in backend.log although no more writes to it occur.
The program is still running however the frontends can't connect

I use a dual CPU machine. When I cut this down to one CPU the backend stayed up long enough for me to discover I had a weak signal (my booster box had blown)

After replacing this and turning logging down to 'important' only it works fine again. It seams the backend can't handle verbose logging and stream live tv on a slow machine.
