Bug Description

Binary package hint: transmission

If I open any torrent in transmission, it says there are 0 peers, it doesn't begin downloading. If I click details, it says the torrent is stalled.
I installed the deluge bit torrent client, used the default settings and the torrents all downloaded fine.

This was in the message log:

13:31:59 Port Mapping (NAT-PMP): readnatpmpresponseorretry returned error -7, errno is 111 (Connection refused)
13:31:59 Port Mapping (NAT-PMP): If your router supports NAT-PMP, please make sure NAT-PMP is enabled!
13:31:59 Port Mapping (NAT-PMP): NAT-PMP port forwarding unsuccessful, trying UPnP next

I can confirm this. I'm not behind a firewall or NAT.

Unchecking "Automatically map port" in the preferences fixed it for me.

The issue is resolved for me in version 1.11 of transmisson, not to mention an improved interface.

I have also the same problem with Transmission 1.20 from GetDeb.net / Hardy.
Deluge works fine with UPnP.

---------------
transmission (1.32-0ubuntu1) intrepid; urgency=low

  * New upstream release. (LP: #256277)
  * debian/control:
   - Add Build-Depends on libnotify-dev.
  * debian/rules, debian/transmission-cli.install, debian/transmission-cli.manpages
   - Remove references to now defunct transmission-proxy.
