after latest updates my camera doesn't even appear as a usb mountable device, so i can't browse the folders in nautilus.

gthumb on the other hand does find it and imports the photos.

I have been having a similar problem running the Hardy Beta live CD's. on March 21, it would correctly identify and download pictures from my canon SD550 using g-thumb. All daily builds since then have no response upon plugging in the camera. If you run f-spot or gthumb, and select source from the drop down a Canon Pixus camera is detected, However, if you select the camera, the system hard freezes. No mouse or keyboard. Total lockup. Only choice is to hit reset button on tower. The latest daily build I have tried is April 7, which has this problem.

I can confirm this bug. I have a Canon Ixus 70, which also isn't recognized by kde 4.1.(64bit) Digicam can't connect to it either. Trying "camera:/" in dolphin gives the same results.

Camera doesn't work in Ubuntu Intrepid too. F-Spot detected camera and it gave two opportunuties about A460. When I selected first or second opportunity it said cannot lock camera. I'm using newest updates.

Kubuntu Intrepid didn't detect any camera when I plug camera in. I have to add when I try to close in Ubuntu F-Spot after trying to plug camera, F-Spot didn't reply and I had to use force closing.

Hi mattik-deactivatedaccount,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux-image-`uname -r` 215284

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
