Bug Description

Binary package hint: wavesurfer

When attempting to play or record sounds, wavesurfer complains about a lack of /dev/sound/dsp (this is because it doesn't exist in Hardy).

Running wavesurfer through the padsp wrapper solves the problem, so it should be sufficient to prepend the command with /usr/bin/padsp in the .desktop, at least as a temporary measure..

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
