Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

Release: Hardy Beta - update current to 8th April.

I'm trying to create a seperate user group for something with the Users & Groups admin stage on Hardy and saw some odd behaviours:

1. Add group doesn't add group. The group ID it attempts to use increases but it doesn't seem to add the group to the list - even closing the Manage Groups window doesn't show it.
2. There's an empty blank entry at the bottom of the list after adding a group. Clicking properties gives the group number and empty name. If you add a name it accepts it but nothing happens.

Closing the whole Users & Groups section and going back into it seems to go back to square 1 - i.e. no group and the current GID count is back to it's starting figure.

Confirming.

Some more details about this strange behaviour:
When I add the new group it shows GID 1001. The empty group entry has GID 1002. If I then try to add one more group it will give it once more GID 1002 (which ends up with GID 1003, of course)
Further, if I go back and try to add a user, it crashes. I'll add some more information after.

Changed in gnome-system-tools:
status: New → Confirmed
