Bug Description

Under Hardy (09-04-2007 most fresh) the XQF starts nice and slowly eats memory and force of processor. I'm using KDE 3.5.9 from Kubuntu package. And the default XQF v1.05 from Hardy.

Confirmed same behavior here. This is on AMD64 with all updates as of 2008-04-18. I can provide whatever logs might be necessary.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

Yes, it is still. Under 8.10 and 9.04 too. We could resolv this trouble when
in the program we set the next parameter: Preferences->General->"When
launching the game"...>Terminate XQF.
Without this option XQF will be zombie and eats almost all forces of
processor(s).

I don't have the problem with Jaunty. How much CPU and RAM is xqf using?

Maximum. There is a way how to resolv this bug:
Preferences->General->[When launching game...] Terminate XQF.
Not too elegant, but useful.

That's not a fix, but a workaround. Have you reproduced the problem with Jaunty? What do you mean by maximum? You say it "slowly eats memory"; how much per minute, for example? Have you observed 100% CPU usage?

The reporter replied via email that the problem has disappeared with Jaunty. Thanks for testing, closing this report.
