E: Malformed 3rd word in the Status line
E: Ocurrió un error mientras se procesaba jfsutils (UsePackage1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: No se pudieron analizar o abrir las listas de paquetes o el archivo de estado.
E: No se pudo reconstruir el almacén de paquetes

user@hostname:~$ sudo aptitude update
E:Malformed 3rd word in the Status line, E:Ocurrió un error mientras se procesaba jfsutils (UsePackage1), E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status, E:No se pudieron analizar o abrir las listas de paquetes o el archivo de estado.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. To find the cause of the problem we need more information. Could you describe the steps you took when the error occurred. In particular what version of ubuntu you were upgrading from and too. More importantly could you attach the 3 log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade.

A translation of what those errors mean would also be a big help. It looks like there is something wrong with the file /var/lib/dpkg/status. Have you edited this file yourself in any way?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
