Does this happen on firefox-3.0 final?
What version of Ubuntu is this on?
What is the link to what you are trying to open?
Do you have all codecs installed?
Are you sure its trying to open it in gxineplugin?
Can you please give us steps to reproduce this bug?
What version of gxineplugin is installed?
do you have libxine1-x or libxine1 installed? if so what versions?

I have similar problem with xine plugin now. Video's at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~rdalhoff/embedvideo.html don't play even though xine-plugin (1.0.1~cvs20070523-1ubuntu1) is installed. First Firefox claims no suitable plugin is installed.

Firefox can't play http://areena.yle.fi/toista?id=1053552 by gxineplugin, but epiphany-browser can. Even Firefox 3.0.1 doesn't recognize the plugin.

BTW. gxineplugin can't play videos at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~rdalhoff/embedvideo.html in epiphany-browser either.
