- libradius1-dev is in universe and lacking a MIR; libnet-snmp-perl is in main.
- plugins requiring root have to be manually required to run as root (according to README.Debian,
  this default config is unproblematic).
- package looks ok for promotion, would like to see a comment from ubuntu-security (same as for nagios2)

After a quick review, I'm okay with the plugins going into main. I have opened a separate report (bug 214863) for bugs and other issues that aren't too important.

Reopening this MIR, because nagios-plugins is in main now, but two of its dependencies (fping and qstat) are not. AFAIK these have not been reviewed yet so can't be promoted without more study.

qstat hardly seems of earth-shattering importance, and perhaps could move to nagios-plugins-extra? I'm not hugely bothered though ...

nagios-plugins-extra doesn't exist anymore in debian, apparently integrated in nagios-plugins. So maybe remove the source and build a nagios-plugins-extra out of nagios-plugins?

fping should be moved there as well. the feature advertised in fping to ping multiple hosts simultaneously isn't used in the plugin.

I have created nagios-plugins-extra so that the checks that use qstat and fping can remain in universe. So the plugins that would be promoted to main are:

nagios-plugins
nagios-plugins-basic
nagios-plugins-standard.

I had an ack from pitti and its sitting to be approved now.

After Chuck's last split, the components are ok, but you still need to fix the seeds: drop nagios-plugins and add -standard and -basic instead, since you decided to keep the strict dependency of nagios-plugins to -extra.
