Hello,

I know this doesn't solve this bug (which I confirm, though I am in a Win XP version so I guess it is a Thunderbird bug), but you can work around this problem by going to tools->options->Advanced Settings (arriving to Thunderbird's about:config) and adjust the mail.identity.*.sig_bottom to false.

Hope this helps someone ;)

This may work however the code for Windows Thunderbird and the code for Linux Thunderbird are not the same in general not even close

I am however unable to reproduce this with the info provided on the bug.

Gutsy was EOL in April 2009. Could you please verify that you are using a supported version of Ubuntu (8.04 and up) and that you are still experiencing this issue. This worked for me in Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 in Karmic and Jaunty as well.

Hi, Micah,
As requested:
$ uname -a
Linux krusty 2.6.28-17-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 1 18:57:07 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
Using Ubuntu 9.04.
Thunderbird is version 2.0.0.23 (20090817).

By The Way, this is a 'fresh' install of 9.04, back in about July. I verified the options in settings: I ensured that the options sere set correctly & replied to an incoming message.

Problem has gone away - I.e., I cannot reproduce this bug in this install on my machine.

No, I'm not. . . . because it's a fresh install?

Ok, I tried post #3 and it does exist on Linux! it is a little different, however I set them to false. I also went into Account Prefs -:> Composition -> start reply above quote put signature above quote, below my reply and it refuses to set this option. When I hit reply for a split second my signature appears above the quote, but then is removed and placed below the quote, and it is ready to start my reply above the quote. Here is my uname -a

Linux shane-desktop 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:28:05 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

This is more of an annoyance than anything else, as I cut and paste my sig below my reply and above the quote. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Another note, I had Signature Switch extension enabled, and with it disabled, I no longer get this bug! So apparently this is a Signature Switch extension bug?
