Bug Description

I have a Cowon iAudioF2 generic portable music player. Under Gutsy Gibbon with Amarok 1.4.8, the device worked fine and Amarok was able to configure and sync playlists to the player. After installing Hardy Heron, Amarok no longer is able to configure the device. I can manually configure the device in Amarok by pointing it to /media/IAUDIOF2. Amarok will then manage the device for that one session, but once I quite Amarok and upon reentering Amarok, it will no longer see or manage the device (and I should point out that all the while, the device is mounted in Ubuntu and is visible and manageable from Nautilus) and Amarok will not accept a second configuration of the device. The only way to get Amarok to recognize the device again is to uninstall Amarok, delete the /.kde/share/apps/amarok folder from my home directory, reinstall and manually configure Amarok. Again though, Amarok will only see and manage the device once.

Synaptic installed several updates this morning after I posted this bug. The updates seem to have resolved the problem as Amarok is now able to manage the device. Thanks to the Ubuntu developers for fixing this.

Well, the update only fixed things in 32-bit Hardy. I'm still having the same problem on my 64-bit box and the update did not fix it.

I am assigning this report to the amarok source package. That way it'll get more developer attention.
